COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Oklahoma Sooners (22-12-1 overall, 3-7-1 Big 12) lost game two, 10-3, of the three-game set at No. 11 Texas A&M (29-6, 11-3) on Saturday.   The win clinched the series for Texas A&M, which sits in first place in the Big 12 standings after Saturday's action, and snapped a losing skid which saw it fall to OU in each of the last four series meetings.

The Sooners took an early 1-0 lead but trailed the rest of the night despite Andrew Doyle holding the Aggies hitless for the first four innings.  Unfortunately, Doyle walked three batters and hit three other others which contributed to the five runs allowed in four innings of action.  It was the shortest outing for Doyle this season, who dropped to 5-3 following the game.

"Andrew did not have his best outing today and he didn't receive much help," said OU head coach Sunny Golloway.  "We made too many mistakes today and we have to sure those things up and turn it around tomorrow."

OU took the game's initial lead on Jarod Freeman's RBI ground out, which plated Jamie Johnson after he led off the game with a walk.  But the Sooners' offense was limited after the first inning.

Texas A&M came back and took the lead in the bottom of the second on two hit batters, two walks and an error on Bryant Hernandez.  Doyle fought threw the jam and despite allowing six batters to reach, none of which via a hit, he limited the damage to two runs in the frame.

Doyle settled down after the second inning and did not allow a hit in the third or fourth innings.  However, that streak ended when Blake Stouffer led off the fifth inning with a single and started a string of hits for the Aggies.  After Dane Carter followed with a double, Jose Duran's single plated both base runners to end Doyle's outing.  The Aggies plated one more run in the inning to take a 5-1 lead after five innings of action.

In the top of the sixth, OU cut into the Texas A&M lead with Tyson Seng's RBI single.  Down three runs, OU had a chance to narrow the gap further, but stranded two base runners to end the sixth inning.

The Aggies put the game away in the bottom of the sixth with two runs and added extra insurance in the bottom of the seventh with three additional runs.

In the top of the ninth, OU plated its third and final run after Tyson Seng led off the frame with a double to left field.  Seng later scored on Spencer Selby's ground out.

Seng led all Sooners with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate while Texas A&M's Jose Duran drove in three runs off two hits.  Barret Loux (2-1) pitched Texas A&M to the win after a strong start of 7 2/3 innings.  OU managed seven hits off Loux and reliever Hank Robertson while the Aggies connected for nine hits on the evening.

The Sooners and Aggies will conclude the series on Sunday at 1 p.m.  The game will be broadcast live on KOKC 1520 AM and will be joined in progress following the OU softball game at Texas A&M (noon first pitch).

In addition, Sunday's finale will be televised by Fox College Sports with Dan McLaughlin and Keith Moreland providing the on-air talent. Check your cable or satellite provider for listings in your area.
