IRVING, Texas -- Oklahoma's Courtney Paris was named Big 12 Player of the Year for the second straight season and earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors for a third time, announced the conference Friday.

Paris wasn't the only Sooner to reap awards, however.

OU freshman Danielle Robinson earned Big 12 Freshman of the Year and was also named to the conference's all-defensive and all-rookie teams.

Ashley Paris and Robinson were All-Big 12 honorable mention selections.

The honors were voted on by the league's head coaches, with coaches not allowed to vote for their own players.

Paris lead the Big 12 in rebounding (14.9), field goal percentage (57.4) and blocks (3.36) and was its second-leading scorer (18.3) during the regular season. Her NCAA record for consecutive double-doubles stands at 89 games. Paris scored 20-plus points in 10 games this season and had five outings with 20 or more boards.

This season, Paris became the Big 12 Conference career leader in total rebounds, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds and blocks. She also passed the 2,000-point mark in her 94th college game, quicker than any player in Big 12 or Oklahoma history.

Robinson took over the starting point guard duties for Oklahoma in her second collegiate game. She was fourth in the Big 12 in both assists (4.25) and steals (2.29). Her 12.7 points a game are second for the Sooners and 18th in the league. She led conference freshmen in steals and assists and was named Big 12 Rookie of the Week on four occasions.

Kansas State's Deb Patterson was named coach of the year after leading the Wildcats from a worst-to-first, Big 12 Championship-winning season.

The Sooners finished the regular season 21-7 overall, its third consecutive 20-win season, and tied for third in the Big 12 Conference with an 11-5 record.

Oklahoma, a No. 5 seed, faces Missouri, the No. 12 seed, in the first round of the Big 12 Championship at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
