NORMAN, Okla. -- The OU baseball team improved to 7-2 with a 13-0, run-rule victory on Wednesday afternoon in game one of a doubleheader against North Dakota State (0-2).

The Sooner offense opened things up in the bottom of the third inning with five runs off four hits.  Sophomore Spencer Selby drove in two of those runs on his single to center field with the bases loaded.  The next batter, Casey Johnson, cleared the bases with his first home run of the season.

OU piled on six more runs in the bottom of the fourth with two runs driven in off the bat of junior Matt Harughty on a triple to left-center field.  Harughty plated the game's first run with a RBI single in the second inning.

Also in the Sooners' fourth frame, senior Mike Gosse drove in a run on a double to the gap in right center field, sophomore Spencer Selby had a RBI single, and sophomore Aaron Baker and senior Jarod Freeman added sacrifice flies.

Oklahoma finished with a 12-3 edge in hits and junior C.J. Blue (2-0) earned the win with three hits allowed in four innings pitched.  Blue did not walk a batter and struck out three.

Gosse, Selby, C. Johnson, Harughty and Freeman finished the game with two hits each.  Selby, C. Johnson and Harughty also finished with a game-high three RBIs.

OU and North Dakota State began game two of the doubleheader at 3:35 p.m. at L. Dale Mitchell Park to conclude the series.

The Sooners will remain at home to continue the seven-game home stand with a four-game series with Western Illinois over the weekend.  The first game is set for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch on Friday, March 7.
