NORMAN, Okla. -- The OU baseball team suffered a 7-3 loss on Sunday in the series finale against No. 20 Baylor at L. Dale Mitchell Park.  The Sooners (20-8-1 overall and 2-3-1 in Big 12 play) were unable to complete the series sweep of the Bears (16-9, 3-6) after claiming victories in games one and two.

Baylor led throughout most of the game on Sunday and after OU tied the score at two runs apiece in the bottom of the fourth, the Bears used three home runs in the final five frames to pull away.

"You have to tip your cap to Baylor `s offense and Willie Kempf," said OU head coach Sunny Golloway.  "They are a good team and showed it today.  We were not as aggressive at the plate as we needed to be, but we will take the series win and look to carry that momentum into next week."

OU starter Michael Rocha registered his third-straight no decision with two runs allowed on seven hits and a walk.  The freshman tied a season high with seven strikeouts across five innings and kept OU in the game, but his opposition, Kempf kept Baylor ahead.  The sophomore right-hander improved to 4-1 and limited OU to two runs on five hits in seven innings of work.

The Sooners got to Kempf first when Jamie Johnson singled in Mike Gosse in the first inning to give OU an early 1-0 lead. Gosse led off the game with a double to extend his hitting streak to a team-high 15 games and has 25 hits in that span, including eight doubles and nine RBIs.

Baylor knotted things up in the third on Shaver Hansen's RBI single and took a 2-1 lead on Aaron Miller's solo homer to center field in the fourth inning.

The Sooners countered in the bottom half of the fourth on J.T. Wise's fourth long ball of the season, a solo shot to lead off the frame out to left-center field.

Ryan Duke (4-3), who earned the win on Saturday, was not as lucky on Sunday.  Duke entered the game in the sixth to relieve Rocha and held the Bears scoreless before surrendering the go-ahead run in the seventh inning.

In the top of the seventh, Baylor regained the lead on Dustin Dickerson's RBI single through the middle of the infield.  The Bears increased the lead to 5-2 in the eighth on Raynor Campbell's two-run homer off OU reliever Garrett Richards.

The Sooners attempted a comeback in the eighth, but only managed one run despite putting runners at first and second to lead off the frame.  Baylor took advantage of OU's missed opportunity and added extra insurance with a pair of solo home runs by MIller and Landis Ware in the top of the ninth off Jake McCarter.

The Sooners were outhit for the first time in the series, 13-8, on Sunday and were led by Aljay Davis (2-for-3), Wise (2-for-3, two RBIs) and Jamie Johnson (2-for-4, RBI).

Despite Sunday's loss, Oklahoma clinched the series victory on Saturday with a 3-2 win in ten innings, marking the fourth straight time they have topped the Bears in Norman.

The Sooners will host Dallas Baptist on Tuesday, April 1 at 3 p.m.  The game between the Sooners and Patriots will be followed by a visit from No. 10 Texas over the weekend.  The Sooners and Longhorns begin the Red River Rivalry in Norman on Friday, April 4 at 6:35 p.m.  Game two is slated for a 2 p.m. first pitch and the series will conclude on Sunday at 1 p.m.
