NORMAN, Okla. --The Sooners, fresh off a 1-1 split with No. 1 UCLA last weekend, will welcome Arkansas Pine Bluff (1-2) for the 2008 home opener on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. The game is the first of two scheduled against the Golden Lions at L. Dale Mitchell Park. Game two is also slated for a 3 p.m. start on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

series against Arkansas Pine Bluff can be heard
on live on the internet, via Oklahoma
All-Access, with Chuck Kelly calling the play-by-play

SCOUTING
ARKANSAS PINE BLUFF
The Golden Lions enter
Tuesday's contest with a 1-2 record, and won their
season opener at home against SE Missouri State, 4-2. Arkansas
Pine Bluff dropped the next two games, (13-2, 15-3).
Junior
outfielder Jerome McCollum led the Golden Lions' offense
over the weekend with a .333 batting average and two
RBIs off a home run and a double.

OU-ARKANSAS PINE BLUFF SERIES
The
Sooners lead the all-time series, 2-0, with the Golden
Lions. The two met for two games during the 2005
season and the series is most notably remembered for
OU's seventh no-hitter in school history. On
March 9 at L. Dale Mitchell Park, the OU staff tossed
the program's only combined no-hitter. The Sooners
won that game, 20-0, and was led on the mound by Kevin
Duke, John Brownell, Daniel McCutchen, Ryan Mottern,
Will Savage and P.J. Sandoval. OU won the first
game of the series on March 8, 21-8.

and gates will open 90 minutes prior to first pitch. Tickets
are available at the gate, online or

456-GoOU. The office is open from 8:00 a.m.
until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located
on the plaza level of the Asp Avenue parking garage.
Single
game ticket prices are $10 for reserved seats and $7
for general admission. Youth and senior citizens
single game general admission tickets are $5.00.
Season
tickets are also on sale. Reserved season tickets
are available for $130 and general admission season
tickets are available for $90. Discounted general
admission season tickets are available to OU faculty/staff
and senior citizens for $80.
UP NEXT
The Sooners will head south to Houston, Texas to participate in the Houston College Classic over the weekend. OU will play three games at Minute Maid Park, the home of Major League Baseball's Houston Astros. The Sooners begin the tournament against No. 15 Rice (Baseball America) at noon on Friday, Feb. 29. On Saturday, OU will battle Houston at noon and conclude the tournament on Sunday at 11 a.m. against Tennessee.

Selby was one of 14 newcomers to make their Sooner debut over the weekend, Selby provided the biggest offensive boost for OU with a .571 clip and a 1.000 slugging percentage.
The hard-hitting sophomore finished game two of the series with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate, a run scored and two RBIs. Selby connected for his first career home run against the No. 1 Bruins in game two, the first by a Sooner this season. Selby' solo shot was followed up by the game-winning RBI, which came on a sacrifice fly in the top of the 12th inning. In game one, Selby was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
LAST WEEK
Oklahoma and No. 1 UCLA split a doubleheader on Saturday, with OU winning the nightcap, 3-2, in 12 innings. Earlier in the day, the Sooners dropped a heartbreaker, 7-5, to UCLA on a two-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth.

NEWCOMERS CONTRIBUTE RIGHT OFF THE BAT
Fourteen OU newcomers made their debut on Saturday and eight started game one of the doubleheader ... 12 of OU's 17 hits this season have come from newcomers and six of OU's eight runs have been driven in by new players ... Four different OU pitchers struck out five or more batters on Saturday (Doyle - 7, Anderson - 5, Erben - 5 and Rocha - 5).
