Big 12 Football Championship Night

NORMAN, Okla. -- The Oklahoma Athletics Department will hold a "Big 12 Football Championship Night...3 in a Row!" celebration this Wednesday at the men's basketball game between fifth-ranked OU (8-0) and Maine (5-4).

Members of the Big 12 champion football team will sign autographs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Clinton Lounge on Lloyd Noble Center's upper east concourse, and fans may have their photo taken next to the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Big 12 Championship football trophies during the same time frame at Legacy Court on Lloyd Noble's south end.

At 7 p.m., Oklahoma's No. 5 men's hoops team (8-0) tips against the Black Bears. The football team will be honored with a special celebration at halftime.

Fans must possess a basketball game ticket to participate in the football activities. Tickets are available online at SoonerSports.com and at the OU Athletics Ticket Office (800-456-4668). Lloyd Noble Center ticket windows will open at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Men's Basketball vs. Maine

Head coach Jeff Capel and the Sooners are undefeated and ranked No. 5 in the nation. Oklahoma (8-0) hosts the Maine Black Bears at the Lloyd Noble Center at 7 p.m. OU is returning home after defeating the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 69-44, on Sunday at the BOK Center in downtown Tulsa.

Big 12 Football Championship Night

The football team will be in attendance Wednesday night to cheer on the basketball team and celebrate Oklahoma's 2008 Big 12 Championship. The Sooners defeated Missouri, 62-21, in Kansas City on Saturday night to claim the program's third consecutive conference crown.

• Fans have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the 2006, 2007 and 2008 Big 12 Conference football championship trophies inside Legacy Court at the Lloyd Noble Center from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

• The OU football team will sign autographs from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Fans will be limited to one autograph item per person.

• An on-court halftime celebration will recognize the team, as well as feature an address to the crowd and the presentation of an official invitation to the BCS championship game by a member of the Orange Bowl Committee.

• Big 12 Championship merchandise and BCS National Title merchandise will be available for purchase.
