NORMAN, Okla. - The Touchdown Club of Columbus has announced its annual college football awards for the 2008 season, and the Oklahoma Sooners' powerful offense continues to dominate the headlines.

Quarterback Sam Bradford has been named the winner of the Chic Harley Award symbolizing the TDC's choice for College Football Player of the Year. Bradford was previously named the winner of the Sammy Baugh Award as the nation's top passer, and becomes the first player in the 54-year history of the Club to win both awards in the same season.

Selections for the awards are based upon a committee of college football offensive and defensive coordinators. Bradford joins previous Sooners Harley Award winners Josh Heupel (2000), Billy Sims (1978), and Steve Owens (1969).

Junior tight end Jermaine Gresham is the Touchdown Club of Columbus choice for the best tight end in college football. He joins Texas Tech receiver Michael Crabtree, Iowa running back Shonn Greene, and offensive lineman Andre Smith of Alabama for awards on the offensive side.

Each player will be honored during the 54th Touchdown Club of Columbus Awards Banquet on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion in Downtown Columbus. For additional information, visit www.touchdownclubofcolumbus.com.
