NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma track and field will host seven collegiate meets -- three indoor and four outdoor -- and one high school meet in 2009.
During the indoor season, OU hosts the J.D. Martin Invitational (Jan. 31), Sooner Open I (Feb. 7) and Sooner Open II (Feb. 21) at the Moiser Indoor Center. Outdoors, the Sooners host the John Jacobs Collegiate Invitational (April 11), Sooner Open (April 25), Sooner Twilight (May 9) and the 2009 NCAA Midwest Regional (May 29-30) at John Jacobs Field.
In 2009, the John Jacobs High School Invitational will run Friday, April 10, one day prior to the collegiate invitational.
Entry into all meets hosted by the University of Oklahoma will be by invitation. Teams and individuals interested in competing must contact the meet director, Skip Pickens, at skip@ou.edu to request an invitation. Please note that not all requests will be granted an invitation. In addition, priority will be given to Division I teams and individuals.
Teams and individuals granted an invitation to compete will be given access to enter online at Direct Athletics (directathletics.com). Entries will not be accepted by telephone, fax, or e-mail.
A limited number of open, club, and unattached entries will be accepted to enhance the fields for the meet. Interested individuals must contact the meet director, Skip Pickens, at skip@ou.edu to request an invitation to compete. Not all requests will be granted an invitation. Approved athletes will be sent an email with further online entry instructions.
