NORMAN, Okla. -  The University of Oklahoma volleyball team closes out the 2008 season Wednesday evening, traveling to Boulder, Colo. to face the University of Colorado. The match is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT from the Coors Events/Conference Center.

The Sooners own a five match winning streak against the Buffs, dating back to the 2006 season. Oklahoma won this season's previous meeting 3-0 in Norman on Oct. 15.

OU got all-around contributions on Saturday afternoon to defeat the Iowa State Cyclones, 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-22), at McCasland Field House. Led offensively by Bridget Laplante's 13 kills, the Sooners got seven kills each from freshman Caitlin Higgins and redshirt sophomore Francie Ekwerekwu. Sophomore Sarah Freudenrich added six, while Suzy Boulavsky tacked on five. Freudenrich led the team with a .455 hitting percentage. As a team, the Sooners hit .233, their third highest clip during conference play this year. Laplante hit .345 for OU. Freshman Brianne Barker led the team with 27 assists.

Defensively, senior Lacy Barnes had 22 digs in her final home match for Oklahoma. Laplante and Higgins added nine digs each, and freshman Danielle Alva added five. The Sooners had a superb day at the net with 11 total blocks. Ekwerekwu tied a career high with eight block assists to lead the Sooners. Boulavsky tied season highs in block solos (1), block assists (5) and total blocks (6).

Colorado fell to Texas A&M, 3-0, on Saturday evening. The Buffs were led by Emilee Sisco's team-high 10 kills Amber Sutherland and Schylur Edelman added eight each, while Alex Buth totaled seven. Kaitlyn Burkett led CU with 33 assists.
