Oklahoma Game Notes

• OU improved to 44-37-3 against the Cornhuskers including wins in the last four meetings. The Sooners hold a 23-16 advantage in Norman.

• The Sooners punched it into the end zone on their opening possession for the eighth time in nine contests this season.

• Dominique Franks' first-quarter interception return for a touchdown was Oklahoma's first defensive score this season and OU's first interception for a TD since Lendy Holmes against Texas Tech last season.

• The Oklahoma defense forced a turnover on Nebraska's first three offensive possessions and has 13 takeaways in the last three contests. OU has forced at least one turnover in 112 of Bob Stoops' 128 games and at least one interception in 82 of the last 111.

• Tonight's 35 points in the opening period marked the third time this season that OU has scored 28 or more points in the first quarter, a school record.

• OU's 97-yard touchdown drive to increase the lead to 34-0 was its longest of the year. The Sooners' previous long was 92 yards against Baylor.

• The Sooners' 62 points were its most ever against Nebraska. OU's 49 first-half points against NU marked its most ever in a half against the Cornhuskers. The Sooners' previous best against Nebraska was 34 in the second half of the 1954 contest.

• The OU offense eclipsed the 500-yard mark for the sixth time this season.

Sam Bradford
• With his first-quarter 48-yard completion to Quentin Chaney, Bradford set an OU career record for pass completions for 40 or more yards with 30. He broke the mark of 29 previously held by Jason White.

• Bradford's five touchdowns marked the 11th time that a Sooner QB has thrown for at least five touchdowns. Bradford holds the OU record with six, five-touchdown games. Jason White threw for five TDs on three occasions while Josh Heupel did it twice.

• Bradford recorded his sixth career game with five or more touchdown passes, his fourth this season.

• With his 311-yard performance on 19-of-27 passing, Bradford eclipsed the 3,000-yard mark this season and 6,000-yard mark for his career. The sophomore has thrown for 3,086 yards this season and 6,207 yards in his career.

DeMarco Murray
• Murray now has 29 career touchdowns, tying Adrian Peterson for the most TDs by a Sooner in his first two years.

• Murray's 62-yard kickoff return to start the game was his longest since recording a 91-yarder for a touchdown against Baylor last season. It also marked his longest play of the season since recording a 49-yard run against UT-Chattanooga in OU's season opener.

• Murray became the first Sooner to record two kickoff returns of at least 50 yards since Brandon Daniels accomplished the feat against Notre Dame in 1999.

• Murray's 119 return yards marked the ninth-best output in school history. After tonight's contest, Murray holds three of the 10 highest single-game return yardage marks in program history.

• With his three scores in tonight's contest, Murray has nine in his last three games.

Jermaine Gresham
• With two touchdown grabs, Gresham has 21 career scores, tying Malcolm Kelly for second all-time (Mark Clayton - 31).

Quentin Chaney
• Chaney recorded a season-high 128 yards on five catches. It was his third career 100-yard game and just a yard shy of his career best (129 against West Virginia in last season's Fiesta Bowl).

By the Numbers
3 - Austin Box recorded three tackles and a pass break-up in his first career start.

4 - Gresham's first-quarter touchdown reception marked his fourth-straight game with a score.

5 - Keenan Clayton's first-quarter forced fumble was his fifth of the season and marked an Oklahoma single-season record.

9 - Tonight's win marked the ninth time the Sooners have scored at least 60 points under Stoops, including five Big 12 contests.

13 - Bradford's 13-yard designed QB draw in the first quarter marked a career long.

31 - Dominique Franks' interception for a touchdown was the 31st defensive touchdown under Bob Stoops.

35 - Oklahoma's 35 first-quarter points ties its most-ever against a Big 12 opponent. The Sooners also scored 35 in the second quarter against Texas A&M in 2003.

36 - The OU defense has recorded multiple interceptions in 36 games under Stoops, including the last three contests.

59 - OU won its 59th home game under Stoops, improving to 59-2 in Norman under the 10th-year head coach.

70 - With his five TDs in tonight's contest, Bradford has now thrown 70 career touchdowns, including 34 this season.

85,212 - Tonight's attendance marked OU's 61st consecutive home sellout under Stoops. It also marked the fifth-highest attendance at an Oklahoma home game.

Nebraska Game Notes

• The loss marked the fourth straight victory in the series for Oklahoma and the Sooners' third straight win over Nebraska in Norman. Nebraska dropped its ninth straight game against a ranked opponent and its 12th straight game against a top-10 foe since a 2001 win over No. 2 Oklahoma in Lincoln.

• The 35 points allowed by Nebraska in the fi rst quarter of tonight's game is the most ever allowed in a quarter by Nebraska. The previous record was 28 points on three occasions, most recently in the fourth quarter at Texas Tech in 2004. Nebraska allowed 28 points in the fi rst quarter on two previous occasions.

• Oklahoma's 62 points in tonight's game is the most ever by the Sooners in the series against Nebraska, bettering the 55 points in a 55-7 Husker defeat in 1954.

• Nebraska senior receiver Nate Swift had three receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown in tonight's game. Swift increased his season receiving yardage total to 690, moving him from outside of the season receiving top 10 to sixth on the receiving yardage list. Swift also continued to close in on the career receiving yardage record. His 83 yards tonight pushed Swift's career total to 2,225 yards, moving him within 254 yards of Johnny Rodgers' NU record of 2,479 yards.

• Swift, who has caught at least one pass in 41 of 47 career games, had a career-long 67-yard reception in the second quarter. His previous long reception was a 61-yard TD catch in the season opener against Western Michigan.

• Swift's third-quarter touchdown reception marked his team-leading seventh of the season and his 19th career touchdown, six shy of Rodgers' NU record of 25 TD receptions. The seven touchdown receptions this season is tied for sixth on the NU season list. Swift also caught seven TD passes as a redshirt freshman in 2005.

• Nebraska quarterback Joe Ganz completed 14-of-26 passes for 206 yards in tonight's game. Ganz increased his season passing total to 2,509 yards, good for third on the Nebraska season chart.

• Ganz pushed his career passing total to 4,066 yards to become the fi fth player in school history with more than 4,000 career passing yards joining Zac Taylor, Dave Humm, Jerry Tagge and Eric Crouch.

• I-back Roy Helu earned his fi rst career 100-yard rushing game as he rushed 16 times for 157 yards and a touchdown in tonight's game. Helu's 157 rushing yards are a career-high, bettering his 66 yards at Iowa State on Oct. 18. He reeled off a career-long 57-yard run at the end of the fourth quarter to set up NU's fi nal score, bettering his previous long of 50 yards at Iowa State.

• Senior receiver Todd Peterson had fi ve receptions for 73 yards in tonight's game. Peterson now has 45 receptions this season, good for sixth place on the single-season receptions list, two behind teammate Nate Swift's total this year.

• Nebraska safety Larry Asante made a career-high 13 tackles in tonight's game, bettering his 10 tackles last season against Texas A&M.

• Senior linebacker Tyler Wortman had a career-high 11 tackles in tonight's game. He entered the game with seven total tackles in eight games played this year.

• Nebraska committed a season-high four turnovers in tonight's game, including three in the fi rst quarter. The four turnovers led to 27 Sooner points.

• Nebraska's game captains for tonight's game were: senior receiver Todd Peterson, senior offensive guard Matt Slauson, senior defensive
tackle Ty Steinkuhler and junior receiver Chris Brooks.
