OU Trio Opens All-American Tournament in Tulsa

Beleleu Makes Qualifying Round

TULSA, Okla.--University of Oklahoma sophomore Ionut Beleleu extended his fall season opening win streak to six as he defeated Arkansas' Dmitry Lebedev, 6-1, 6-4.

With the victory, Beleleu joins fellow Sooner Sergey Avdeyev in the singles qualifying round.

No. 122-ranked Avdeyev will begin the qualifying round on Monday morning against Arizona's Jason Zafiros at 8 a.m.

Andrei Daescu will also be making his first appearance at the 2008 ITA All-American this week as he will team with Beleleu in the doubles qualifying round. The duo will begin play Tuesday afternoon against Tim Puetz and Alexey Tsyrenov of Auburn.

No. 22-ranked Daescu has already qualified for the singles play main draw, which will start Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
