Boulder, Colo.- The women's tennis team wrapped up its fall opener in Boulder, Colo. Sunday with senior Chelsea Orr going undefeated and winning the singles draw.
"It was the best match I have ever seen Chelsea play," said head coach Mark Johnson.
Orr defeated freshman teammate Ana-Maria Constatinescu 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the finals.
"Chelsea and Ana-Maria played very well." said Johnson. "It was a great first tournament for Ana-Maria. She has a very bright future."
The Sooners also showed promise in doubles, earning a 4-3 record. The Sooners entered four teams, each of which won at least one match.
"We are still mixing up the doubles," said Johnson. "It is a good time to see who plays well together."
The Sooners will now continue fall practice, preparing for the ITA Regional Championships which will begin Oct. 17 in Tulsa, Okla.
