NORMAN, Okla. - Consistency is the name of the game for Ellen Mueller, a freshman from Evansville, Ind. who hopes to do big things for the University of Oklahoma women's golf team.

"I'm good at consistency. The strength of my game is hitting from fairway to green and getting my one or two putt," Mueller said. "I'll put up a consistent score every time that the team can count on."

Majoring in health and exercise science, Mueller boasts a solid junior golf background that bodes well for both her and the Sooners' futures. In 2006 she was a quarterfinalist at the USGA Girls Junior, and in 2007 she played in both the USGA's Women's Amateur and Women's Public Links, tournaments highlighted by the nation's top college golfers.

As a Sooner, Mueller is confident and ready to ascend to new heights.

"I'm looking forward to going to the tourneys, playing amongst other great college golfers, and helping OU do the best we've ever done," Mueller said.

Mueller said that if she keeps up the way she is playing now, she is ready to make an early impact for Oklahoma.

"My goal as an individual is to finish in the top 10 in tournaments, and as a team to do great in the fall season so in the spring we're ranked high enough to where we're not fighting for the last regional spot."

And judging from the way she plays, you can expect that her game will be consistent with her goals.
