NORMAN, Okla. -- The north end zone of Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium has undergone a major facelift over the past two days, as construction workers are in the process of replacing the main video board. The old video board was removed on Monday and installation of the new high-definition LED board began Tuesday.

The new LED board, which measures approximately 22ft by 31ft, came in three massive sections of equal size. Two of the sections were installed on Tuesday, and the project is scheduled to be completed on Wednesday.

In addition to the new main video board, fans entering the stadium during the 2007 football season will also be greeted by two 4ft by 300ft full-color displays which have been installed along the east and west fascia of the stadium. These boards are designed to show game-in-progress information, team and player stats, full-color animation, interactive sponsor messages and cropped video clips. Four additional full-color displays are being placed throughout the venue to keep fans further informed and entertained.

All stadium enhancements are expected to be completed prior to Oklahoma's 2007 home opener against North Texas on Saturday, Sept. 1.
