NORMAN, Okla. -- View photos of construction at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium from July 10, 2007.
The brick and wrought iron fence around the perimeter of the football practice fields is only the most visible improvement to fans driving past the stadium. New concession facilities and women's restrooms on the north and west concourses of the stadium and improvements to the football offices in the south end zone continue at a rapid pace.
Fans entering the stadium during the 2007 football season will also be greeted by a new LED video board in the north end zone measuring approximately 22ft by 31ft. Six additional full-color displays placed throughout the stadium will keep fans further informed and entertained. Two of them, each measuring approximately 4ft by 300ft, will be installed along the east and west fascia of the stadium, showing game-in-progress information, team and player stats, full-color animation, interactive sponsor messages and cropped video clips.
Enhancements are expected to be completed prior to Oklahoma's home opener against North Texas on Saturday, Sept. 1.
