NORMAN, Okla. - Head volleyball coach Santiago Restrepo announced the hiring of Nicki Green to the position of Director of Operations Thursday. Green will serve in a slightly different position after spending her last three years as an assistant coach at UNC Charlotte (2006) and Southern Miss (2004-05).
Green is very familiar with the Oklahoma coaches as she played under head coach Santiago Restrepo at Southern Miss and is the sister of current OU assistant Kelly Files, whom she also played with and under at Southern Miss.
"We're very excited about Nicki joining our staff," Restrepo said. "She was such a hard-working player and I know she will put that effort into this job which will benefit this program and make it the best it can be."

Her primary responsibilities will include handling all of OU's team travel arrangements while also assisting with on-campus recruiting, alumni contact, booster development, summer camps and administrative duties. She will also serve as Director of the Sooner Volleyball Club, a club program started in 2004.
"I loved playing under Santiago as a player because he pushed me to my limit and made me such a better player so I'm looking forward to joining him on his staff this season as well as my sister who I have played with and been coached by," Green said. "I'll be in a different role than I'm used to but this will be a great school and conference for me to get experience in."
As an assistant at UNC Charlotte, Green was instrumental in leading the 49ers to their highest win total since 1994 while the squad also advanced to its second straight Atlantic-10 Tournament. Green served as the first assistant and was the recruiting coordinator for the 49ers while also working with outside hitters and liberos.
As an assistant at Southern Miss, Green's duties included recruiting, on-court coaching and conditioning, as well as team travel, scouting, fundraising and video exchange. In 2004, she also served as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, working directly with the women's basketball and women's tennis team. Using her bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Green assisted with the daily operations in strength and conditioning for all sports and helped oversee interns as well.
In her playing days, she was named to Southern Miss' All-30 Volleyball Team and led the Golden Eagles to the most wins in school history with a 26-7 record in 2003. She topped the team in kills and ranked third in aces that same year. She was named Tournament MVP at the 2003 Mississippi State Tournament and received all-tournament honors at the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Tournament. She recorded 1,034 kills and 929 digs in her career and ranks in the school's all-time Top 15 in kills, aces, digs and attempts.
A standout academically, the President and Dean's List student was also a CoSIDA Academic All-Region second team selection.
The native of Kansas City, Mo., is a 2003 graduate of Southern Miss and completed her Master's Degree in Sports Administration/Sports Management in 2005.
Green replaces former Director of Operations Jennifer Loeswick.
