NORMAN, Okla. CBS (Cox Channel 10 in Oklahoma City) will air the 2007 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Team and Individual Finals on Saturday, May 12 at 3 p.m. (CT).
As a team, Oklahoma finished fourth in the first preliminary session, just 0.375 points shy of third-place Nebraska and the program's first visit to the team finals or “Super Six.” The Sooners finished eighth overall, marking the best finish in OU history, but did not qualify for the team finals.
Two Sooners, senior Brittney Koncak-Schumann and junior Kiara Redmond, represented OU in the event championships.
Koncak-Schumann closed out her outstanding collegiate career scoring a 9.85 to tie for third in the nation on vault with Nebraska's Emily Parsons. She also earned first team All-America honors on the apparatus.

To qualify for the event finals, gymnasts had to finish in the top four (plus ties) on the apparatus in their session in the preliminary round.
Alabama's Terin Humphrey claimed the national title on bars with a 9.95, while Ashley Postell of Utah took the beam championship with a 9.9375. 2007 all-around winner Courtney Kupets of Georgia also won the vault crown with a score of 9.9188 and Alabama's Morgan Dennis took the floor title with a 9.9625.
Georgia took home its third consecutive team title with a 197.850, besting championship host Utah by 0.6 points.
