Women Qualify for Penn Relays Final

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. The OU women flexed their muscles in front of a national audience Thursday at the 113th Penn Relays as two relays qualified for the final rounds at historic Franklin Field.
The OU 4x100-meter relay of Leslie Cole, Yolanda Goff, Scottesha Miller and Larica Urbina finished seventh overall out of 90 college teams in a combined 45.37 seconds. OU took second in their heat to Texas A&M (45.16). Auburn's women (44.62) were first overall.
Leslie Cole, Jhavonne Pope, Yolanda Goff and Tijahnni Newton OU's 4x400-meter relay were also seventh overall out of 89 teams, running a season best 3:39.50. The Sooners placed second in their heat to South Carolina (3:38.32) as LSU's squad (3:32.60) ran 3.5 seconds faster than second-place TCU (3:36.10) for the top overall seed.

OU freshman Shquanda Meylor (1:03.78) took 39th of 76 competitiors in the college women's 400-meter intermediate hurdles.
The Penn Relays continue Friday, April 27, as the men's relays take to the track along with the preliminary heats of the sprints. The women's 4x100 "Championship of America" is scheduled for 11:50 a.m. Central.
The women's 4x400 "Championship of America" is scheduled for 4:35 p.m. Central, Saturday, April 28.
