Upcoming Event: Track and Field versus OU Winter Field Fest Invitational on December 5, 2025

NORMAN, Okla. The OU track and field team prepares for nationwide visibility this week as its members split for meets in California, Pennsylvania and a hosting gig in Norman.
OU's men's and women's sprinters, hurdlers and relays head to Philadelphia for the 113th Penn Relays (April 26-28) while select members of the women's distance squad compete at the Cardinal Invitational at Stanford University (April 29). The remainder of the team hosts opponents from around the region Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28, at the Sooner Invitational.
The Sooner Invitational is the final home event for the OU in 2007. It will also be the final competition wearing Crimson and Cream in Norman for seniors Kevin Bookout, Cale Drumright, Scott Martin, Portia Nash, Ronnie Pines, Dermillo Wise and Frankie Wright.

The first half of the men's decathlon and women's heptathlon and the men's and women's hammer throw begin Friday, April 27, with the remainder of the track and field events running Saturday, April 28.
Friday's events begin at 2 p.m. Saturday's events begin with the combined events at 9 a.m., field events at 11 a.m. and track events at 2 p.m.

Former OU Stars Blackwood, Blanton Power USA vs. the World
Former NCAA national champions Michael Blackwood and DaBryan Blanton join the best athletes around the globe this weekend for USA vs. the World, the first event of the 2007 USATF Outdoor Visa Championship Series.
Blanton joins the United States' men's 4x100-meter relay headlined by Tyson Gay, Wallace Spearmon and Shawn Crawford as they face international competition at this weekend's 113th Penn Relays.
The former OU star was the 2007 USATF National Indoor 60-Meter Dash Champion. Blanton was never defeated in the 100 meters at the Big 12 Conference Championships during his three-year career with the Sooners.
Blackwood, an Olympian in 2000 and 2004, heads a Jamaican 4x400-meter relay comprised of Sanjay Ayre, Leeford Green and Germaine Gonzales.
The events of USA vs. The World will be broadcast live on ESPN2 Saturday, April 28, from 12-2 p.m. Central.
