NORMAN, Okla. Oklahoma placed five gymnasts on the 2007 All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Academic Team, the conference announced Tuesday.

Sophomores Wes Aderhold, Chris Brooks, and Russell Czeschin were each honored for the first time.  Messina earned Academic All-MPSF for the second time, while Carr was honored for the third straight year.

Czeschin and Brooks also took All-America honors at the 2007 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships in University Park, Pa., on April 14.  Czeschin was an All-American on the floor exercise, while Brooks earned the honor in the high bar.

Carr, a senior petroleum engineering major from Mandeville, La., was a finalist for the 2007 Nissen Emery Award.

Oklahoma also had five conference honorees last season and nine Sooners were named All-America Scholar-Athletes by the College Gymnastics Association last year.
