The Sooners are one week removed from record finishes at the Big 12 Championships. Both the men's and women's teams scored their best overall finishes and points totals at the meet since the formation of the conference in 1996-97. The OU men were third (80.5 points) and women were fourth (74.5).
Individually, Portia Nash and Frankie Wright, respectively, swept the women's and men's long jump titles. Kevin Bookout (shot put) and Marcus Pugh (60-meter dash) also earned their first conference championship gold medals.
