Texas, Kansas Activities Announced

February 24, 2007 | Men's Basketball

NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma men's basketball team is gearing up for a pair of home games against two of the Big 12's top three teams and the OU Athletics Department has announced festivities surrounding both contests.  The Sooners will host Texas on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Kansas on Monday at 8 p.m.

Former Sooner standouts Brent Price (1991-92) and Ryan Minor (1993-96) will be in attendance for the game against 19th-ranked Texas.  The pair of Oklahoma natives, which will be recognized during the game, will sign autographs on Lloyd Noble Center's upper concourse beginning at 2:15 p.m.  Price averaged 18.0 points and 2.6 3-pointers per game over his OU career while Minor, the school's No. 6 all-time scorer, was the 1995 Big Eight Player of the Year.

For Monday's nationally televised (ESPN) “Senior Night” game against the No. 6 Jayhawks, the OU men will host a WhiteOUt in which every seat will be dressed with a white “Cheer Like a Champion” t-shirt.  Oklahoma's four seniors Nate Carter, Michael Neal, Kellen Sampson and Chris Walker will be introduced during a pre-game ceremony.  Scheduled to be on hand are former players Jeff Webster (1991-94) and David Johnson (1984-87), as well as the head coach with the best winning percentage (.719) in school history, Kelvin Sampson (1995-2006).

A limited number of tickets are still available to both the Texas and Kansas games.  Upper-level reserved seats to each contest cost $30 (north and south) and $45 (east and west).  For more information or to purchase tickets, call the OU Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 456-4668 or (405) 325-2424, or click here
