NORMAN, Okla. -- Two top-10 all-around finishes by Oklahoma gymnasts highlighted Saturday night's Winter Cup Finals in Las Vegas, Nev. Junior Taqiy Abdullah-Simmons finished fifth in the event with a two-day total of 171.150, while former Sooner Jamie Henderson was 10th (169.550).
Six of the seven available spots on the U.S. Senior National Team were decided based on the Winter Cup results. Sean Townsend, Joseph Hagerty and Yewki Tomita earned automatic berths as the top three finishers in the points standings not already on the U.S. Team. Tim McNeill, Raj Bhavsar and Sean Golden were selected by the Men's Program Committee.

One additional athlete will be selected by the committee and announced on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
Junior Jonathan Horton, whose place on the U.S. Team is already secure by virtue of his selection to the 2006 U.S. World Championships Team, was eighth in the points standings. Henderson was 12th, while Abdullah-Simmons was 19th.
Horton, the all-around runner-up at the 2006 Winter Cup, did not compete in the all-around but did record top-five event finishes on floor (2nd, 29.800) and parallel bars (T4th, 30.050). The Houston, Texas, native also scored a two-day total of 29.250 on the high bar to finish in sixth place.
Henderson, whose collegiate eligibility expired after the 2006 season, was fourth on the high bar with a 29.500 total and fifth on the pommel horse (29.000).
