NORMAN, oKLA. - Eight Oklahoma student-athletes have been named to the 2007 All-Big 12 Academic Football Team. Among those recognized were quarterback Sam Bradford and running back DeMarco Murray.
Those selected for the first team were required to carry a minimum grade point average of 3.2. Second team selections required a minimum of 3.0.
OU's first team honorees included Bradford (Business), Murray (undeclared major), wide receiver Russell English (Energy Management) offensive lineman Sherrone Moore (Communications) and defensive tackle Adrian Taylor (undeclared major).
The second team choices were running back Jacob Gutierrez (Sociology), wide receiver Adron Tennell (undeclared major) and fullback Dane Zaslaw (Entrepreneurship/Venture Management).
Bradford leads the nation in pass efficiency (179.43), while Murray is OU's leading rusher (69.5 yards per game). Bradford has set OU freshman records for passing yards and touchdown passes, while Murray has become the first player in school history to log three 80-yard scoring plays in the same season and he has tied Adrian Peterson's freshman touchdown record at 15.
Oklahoma is back on the field Saturday when it hosts Oklahoma State in a 2:30 p.m., kickoff on FSN.
