• The Sooners under head coach Sherri Coale  are now 8-4 in season openers, including a 2-3 record against teams ranked in the top 25 of the AP and Coaches' polls.

• Oklahoma cut into Maryland's 42-24 halftime lead to begin the second period with a 9-2 run that started with five unanswered points.  OU started the game with a 6-0 run, its largest lead of the game.

• Three Sooners made their collegiate debut in today's game -- freshmen Danielle Robinson, Carlee Roethlisberger and Jenny Vining.  Sophomore Nyeshia Stevenson drew her first start as a collegian.

• Preseason All-Americans Crystal Langhorne (Maryland) and Courtney Paris (Oklahoma) combined for just five points in the first half.  In the period, each team's bench players scored five for their respective teams.

Ashley Paris

• Ashley Paris scored 17 points, a new single-game best for the junior forward.  Paris had scored 16 points on three occasions.

• Ashley Paris made her first career 3-pointer, connecting on her first field goal attempt of the game to put the Sooners up early 6-0.  It was Paris' third career 3-point attempt (she had two as a freshman).

• Ashley Paris was the first Sooner in double figures, scoring her 11th point on a layup with 2:13 remaining in the first half.

Courtney Paris
• Courtney Paris was held without scoring until the 7:22 mark in the first half..  She finally scored points on a free throw after being fouled on a lay up.  Her first field goal came at the 4:40 mark, an lay up assisted by sister Ashley.

• Courtney Paris recorded her 62nd consecutive double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Paris has recorded an NCAA record 67 double-doubles in 70 career games.

• Paris passed Molly McGuire (1,071) for No. 1 on OU's all-time career rebounding list with her seventh today.  Paris finished the game with 10 rebounds to set the record at 1,075.

Danielle Robinson
• Robinson had two steals in today's contest that she converted to four points.

• Robinson reached double figures in her initial college game, scoring 15 points -- the second best on the team.

Amanda Thompson
• Thompson matched a single-game best with three steals.
