NORMAN, Okla. -- As the No. 6 Sooners prepare for Saturday's match-up with No. 11 Missouri, SoonerSports.com brings you video of some of the classic moments in the series.
Go back in time to November 17, 1956 when the Sooners defeated Missouri, 67-14, for OU's 39th straight victory, tying the record for all-time consecutive wins set by the Washington Huskies from 1908-1914. Of course, Oklahoma won eight more in a row before its streak came to an end.
Or reminisce about the day Joe Washington saved the game, the Big Eight title and OU's fifth national championship with his clutch performance against Missouri in 1975. With OU trailing 27-20 with under five minutes remaining and facing a critical fourth-and-one deep in its own territory, "Little Joe" darted 71 yards to bring the Sooners with one and then plunged into the end zone on the ensuing two-point conversion to give Oklahoma a 28-27 victory.
Or recount Billy Sims' career-day against Missouri in 1979. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner ran all over the Tigers, racking up 282 yards on the ground to single-handedly carry the Sooners to a 24-22 victory on their way to a ninth straight Big Eight Championship.
Or watch Danny Bradley pick apart the MU defense in 1984, helping Oklahoma rack up 526 yards of total offense in a 49-7 blowout.
