IRVING, Texas It does not take long for Kevin Bookout to stand out.
Bookout was named the Big 12 Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week by the conference office Tuesday for his performance at the Razorback Invitational last weekend.
The 6-8, 250-pound senior dominated the shot put competition at his first collegiate indoor meet, winning with a distance of 61 feet, 5.00 inches (18.72 meters).
The mark met the NCAA Championships provisional qualifying standard and currently ranks as the fourth best shot put in the nation.
