NORMAN, Okla. -- Mossis Madu won't be wearing orange on the field again any time soon.
The freshman running back rushed for 1,513 yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior while wearing the orange of the Norman High Tigers.
Is it a little strange that the high school just minutes from the OU campus features the color of Oklahoma's in-state rival?
Of course, Stillwater High's nickname is the pioneers and a schooner is prominently featured as their symbol. Perhaps it all evens out in the end.
Madu played defensive back and running back his sophomore and junior years before switching to running back full-time as a senior.
In addition to his rushing statistics, Madu caught 23 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns in 2005. Madu earned first team all-state honors from the Oklahoma Coaches Association.
At Oklahoma, the 5-11 190-pound back joins fellow freshman DeMarco Murray and Chris Brown.
SoonerSports.com continues its series on the 2006 newcomers with this feature on No. 13, Mossis Madu.
