NORMAN, Okla. -- Rarely does a combination of size, speed, soft hands and playmaking talent come together so well for a tight end.
Throw in the fact that Jermaine Gresham is a true freshman just a few months removed from the halls of Ardmore High and it's easy to understand the buzz the big guy has stirred in Norman.
Oklahoma coaches have been extolling Gresham's virtues since he stepped on campus for voluntary workouts at the beginning of the summer.
The rave reviews continued to roll throughout OU's preseason practices.
|
Head coach Bob Stoops: "We anticipate him being a big factor.”
Offensive Coordinator Kevin Wilson: “He has a real chance to be a significant contributor."
Sophomore wide receiver Malcolm Kelly: "He's a freak."
Gresham certainly has the potential to give opposing defensive coordinators headaches.
If names reappear on Oklahoma's jerseys, don't be surprised to see the word "mismatch" on the back of No. 2
