NORMAN, Okla. -- The OU football team prepares to wrap up preseason practices on Saturday. Monday is the first day of classes on the Norman campus.
 
Oklahoma opens the 2006 season on Saturday, Sept. 2, when the Sooners host UAB at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. with the game televised nationally by TBS.
 
SoonerSports.com continues its series on football's incoming freshman class.
 
Quarterback Sam Bradford threw for 2,422 yards and 19 touchdowns as a senior at Putnam City North High School.

The 6-5, 197-pound QB is wearing No. 14 for the Sooners. The number should be familar to Sooner fans. Bradford's current position coach led Oklahoma to the 2000 national title wearing that particular number.
