NORMAN, Okla. -- Was there any doubt that J.D. Runnels would be a hit in Chicago? The former Sooner fullback is sharing his rookie experience with Bears fans on the team's official site, ChicagoBears.com.
Today's entry from the site details Runnels' thoughts on signing his first contract. Like a good Sooner, Runnels sports an OU shirt in the lead photo on the site.
Chicago is home to several other Sooners including Dusty Dvoracek, Tommie Harris and Mark Bradley.

Signing my first NFL contract after practice Monday at Halas Hall was a great experience that I'll never forget. I was very anxious to be a part of this team and I wanted to let them know that I was just as eager to sign with them as they were to sign me.
It was a very easy process. I'm 110 percent sure that the Bears did everything they could to make it as easy as possible to help me out. Now it's about me going forward and helping them.
While I was signing the contract, I almost cracked a smile three or four times. It's such a mind trip. It's something you've worked for all your life and it's something that everybody talks about...
