NORMAN, Okla. With the help of true freshman Kendall Dye, the Oklahoma women's golf team moved up from 12th to 8th place with a 309 (+21) in Saturday's second round of the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, Texas.  The Sooners are 24 strokes behind leader Duke with one round remaining.

Dye fired a second-round 74 (+2) and moved into the top 10 after being tied for 36th place following Friday's first round.  Dye is currently tied for 10th with a total 153 (+9).  Sophomore Heather Wright also moved up in the standings from a tie for 44th place to a tie for 27th place after posting a 77 (+5).  Wright has a total score of 157 (+13). 

After posting a 77 (+5), junior Jaclyn Stelzer is tied for 32nd place with a two-round score of 158 (+14).  Lone senior Amparo Gala moved into a tie for 48th place with a second-round 82 (+10) and a 161 (+17) total.  With a total score of 163 (+19), sophomore Kelly Jacques is tied for 58th place after shooting an 81 (+9) in today's round.  Staci Smoot, who is competing as an individual for OU, has a two-round total of 177 (+33) and is in 81st place.

The tournament is being played at the 7,154-yard, par-72 University of Texas Golf Club and will wrap up tomorrow morning.
