NORMAN, Okla. After Saturday's second round of the “Mo” Morial Invitational in Bryan, Texas, the Sooners have moved to fifth place with a 628 (+52). Oklahoma trails leader Arkansas by 20 strokes.
Sophomore Kelly Jacques is in the top 10 for the second day in a row with a 150 (+6). Jacques shot two rounds of 75 (+3) and is tied for sixth place. True freshman Kendall Dye, junior Jaclyn Stelzer and sophomore Heather Wright are all tied for 37th place. Dye posted rounds of 80 (+8) and 81 (+9) while Stelzer fired a 77 (+5) and an 84 (+12) and Wright carded rounds of 83 (+11) and 78 (+4) for two-round totals of 161 (+17). After rounds of 84 (+12) and 79 (+7), lone senior Amparo Gala is tied for 49th with a total 163 (+19).
The tournament is hosted by Texas A&M and is being played at the 6,226-yard, par-72 Traditions Golf Course. The competition includes seven other Big 12 schools and three ranked teams. The final round will be played Sunday, March 12.
