NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma women's basketball senior Laura Andrews is one semester away from the end of her collegiate basketball career.
The combo guard has been a steadying force for the Sooners in her final season, averaging 4.5 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.
Praised by the coaching staff for her maturity and leadership ability, Andrews recently took some time to answer a few questions from SoonerSports.com.

What is your most memorable moment as a Sooner?
“Winning the Big 12 Championship my sophomore year.”
Is there any former player in particular that you look up to?
“Caton Hill was a senior on the team my freshman year. She had a great work ethic and did things the right way. Hill was a great leader. I strive to be like her.”
Which game do you most look forward to that is left?
“I'm trying to take it one game at time. Of course we all look forward to playing Texas and all the Big 12 teams. They are such big rivals.”
What is the best advice a coach has given you?
“Coach Coale has taught us to do the little things right, and never quit working hard on the court.”
What are your strengths?
“Being a senior, I think I bring a lot of energy to the team. Whenever practices seems to be quiet, I try to bring energy. I also have experience and we have a lot of younger players that are a crucial part of the team, so I try to set an example by doing the little things right.”
What do you wish you were better at?
“I wish I didn't stress out about the small things.”
How do you try to set an example for younger teammates?
“Coach Coale always talks about working hard. I had a difficult time with that my freshman year so now being a senior, I always try to work hard. Whether I play one minute a game or 30 minutes a game, I've got to work hard every single minute I'm out there.”
What team goals have you all set for the season?
“We want a Big 12 Championship and obviously we want to win a national championship as well.”
Being a senior what are some goals you set for this year?
“I wouldn't say my goal is a certain amount of points, but simply to do what I can and be what the team needs. I don't think I'm a player that is expected to come out and score 30 points. I am expected to help teammates out by talking to them, setting an example and stepping up to be a leader.”
What is your most embarrassing moment?
“The year that we won the Big 12 tournament, something happened during the semi-finals game. There were 10 seconds left and Erin Higgins was shooting free throws. She missed her first one and I was encouraging her from the bench. At this point we were only ahead by one point. Higgins missed the second free throw and Caton Hill got the rebound.
“Coach Coale was sitting next to me trying to call a time out, so I thought Hill had called a time out. I run out on the court trying to talk to Erin when I realized there was a foul, we didn't have a time out. I could have gotten a technical foul and we could have lost the game. I got off the floor as quick as possible, it was awful.”
If you could play on any court, where would it be?
“Right here. This my favorite place to play -- our home court.”
