The SeriesOklahoma vs. Nebraska is one of college football's greatest rivalries. The programs have combined for 12 National Championships since 1950. First played in 1912, the two schools met every year from 1928-1997 before the Big 12 Conference placed the schools in different divisions. OU has won the last two meetings and holds a slight edge in the overall series, 42-37-3.

It may have been the day after Thanksgiving, but No. 19 Nebraska made it seem more like Halloween, turning trick plays into touchdown treats in a 37-14 victory over Colorado in front of a Memorial Stadium record crowd of 85,800 and an ABC national television audience on Friday afternoon...

Big 12 Championship in the News"What really matters is winning it," Stoops said Sunday, a day after his team finished the regular season with a 27-21 victory over Oklahoma State. "That's what I said yesterday and that's what the players understand. That's the main goal." The Sooners' Big 12 South crown...
Tulsa World More than any other statistic, that one should concern Nebraska coaches plotting to stop the eighth-ranked Sooners (10-2) when the teams square off at 7 p.m. Saturday in Arrowhead Stadium. It shows how much improvement the team has made in its offensive line, as well as...
Fort Worth Star-Telegram
When the founding fathers schemed up the Big 12, killing the Nebraska-Oklahoma rivalry in the regular season was tempered by the promise of the powerhouse programs colliding occasionally in the conference championship game. It's taken 11 years, but Saturday should...
Kansas City Star Oklahoma is in the Big 12 title game. Seriously, take that in for a moment: sans Adrian Peterson and Rhett Bomar, OU is in the Big 12 title game. In a year marked by surprises like Rutgers, Wake Forest and Wisconsin, it's hard to call a team many had as a preseason Top 5...
Sports Illustrated Truth is, what we've seen in recent weeks from the Sooners might be what we see even more of in 2007. The '07 Sooners are going to return most of this doberman defense and virtually all of this monster offensive line. But steady-not-spectacular quarterback Paul Thompson...
The Oklahoman By beating old Big Eight rival Nebraska this Saturday night in the Big 12 title game, the Sooners can claim their fifth Bowl Championship Series berth in the last seven years. OU could qualify for coach Bob Stoops' first trip to the Fiesta Bowl against Boise State...
San Antonio Express-News It has been a long road back to the national college football spotlight for Oklahoma. But perhaps it wasn't as far as you thought. The loss to Texas didn't end the Sooners' season, and OU was not that far from being good. A couple of factors allowed the Longhorns to get...
Tulsa World Adam Carriker fondly recalls the mini-tour. Late last July, on the day Nebraska coach Bill Callahan and three of his players met with reporters gathered for Big 12 media days in Kansas City, Mo., the Husker contingent made a pit stop at Arrowhead Stadium...
Lincoln Journal Star And pay no heed to any suggestions that the Sooners have slipped into the title game through any back door. "We came through the front door. Loud. Music playing," senior Larry Birdine said. "They heard us coming. "I believe that we've been the most consistent team...
The Oklahoman The Sooners have some good talent, no question, but somehow Stoops gets that talent to show up and play at its maximum ability every single play, every single drive and every single game. This has to be Stoops best coaching job since he's been there, no question...
College Football News There are many who lament the loss of Oklahoma as a Thanksgiving weekend opponent. For many years, it determined the conference, if not national, championship. As intriguing as the games against Colorado have been, they lack the same sense of importance. But once...
Big Red Network The Big 12 bowl picture will remain clouded until a winner is determined in Saturday's conference championship game between No. 13 Oklahoma (10-2) and No. 23 Nebraska (9-3). This much is certain: The winner between the Sooners and the Cornhuskers will be the league's...
Fort Worth Star-Telegram Is the Sooner defense ready for Nebraska's diverse offense? Why not? OU held Oklahoma State to nearly 100 yards below its rushing average (although it gave half of that back in the passing game). In eight Big 12 games this year, the Sooners held the opponent below its total...
Tulsa World Zac Taylor needed Nebraska. Nebraska needed Zac Taylor. What started as a marriage of convenience has been blissful, indeed. Until Nebraska came calling two years ago, Taylor's best offer coming out of junior college was from Marshall. Taylor, who grew up in Norman...
Beatrice (Neb.) Daily Sun Lincoln south?: It's a safe bet the Huskers will bring thousands of fans to the Big 12 championship. Not that Stoops cares. "I don't believe in any of that," he scoffed Sunday at a potential Huskers home field advantage. "They don't play all their games there. They haven't played...
Tulsa World Just three weeks ago, you'd have to have been delusional or a blind Sooner optimist to think Oklahoma had even a prayer of winning the Big 12 championship, but it's now just a win away from a miraculous about-face since losing to Texas. The Horns, on the other hand....
College Football News If you don't mind, we can discuss the nostalgia part of Nebraska-Oklahoma gridiron greatness in days to come. There exists plenty of time for fluff and hot air throughout the coming week. For now, let's get down to some cold, hard facts. First off, consider the combined score...
