Sooners Drop 6-1 Loss to No. 18 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Oklahoma men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 18 Ohio State at the Jesse Owens West Recreation Center in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday.
No. 20 Alexei Ivanov and Marek Velicka lost a close doubles match to No. 2 Scott Green and Ross Wilson, 8-6. The Buckeyes picked up the doubles point after the duo of Drew Eberly and Bryan Koniecko downed the Sooner tandem of Federico Chavarria and Tommy Garrison, 8-5.
In singles play, Ohio State won five of the six matches. Senior Alexei Ivanov was the only Sooner to win his match with a 7-6, 6-2, victory over Steven Moneke.
With the loss, Oklahoma falls to 2-2 on the season, while Ohio State improves to 3-0.
The Sooners return to action Feb. 5 against Memphis in Tulsa.
