DALLAS -- Courtney Paris (Oklahoma) was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week while Morenike Atunrase (Texas A&M) was named Philips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Player of the Week by a media voting panel for games played from Jan. 9-15.

Paris was selected rookie of the week for the fourth time this season and also has one player of the week award.  Morenike earned her fourth career weekly award and first player of the week honor.

Paris averaged 17.5 points, 15 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in two games for Oklahoma last week. The 6-4 freshmnan set an OU record by recording her eighth and ninth consecutive double-doubles, while also improving her NCAA-best total to 14. Paris outpaced 2005 concensus All-American Jessica Davenport of Ohio State in both points (23 to 15) and rebounds (14 to 3). Over the weekend she grabbed 16 rebounds, scored 12 points and blocked five shots while leading the Sooners to a 34-point win over Oklahoma State.

Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week

Morenike Atunrase, Texas A&M, G/F, 5-10, So, Shreveport, La.

Atunrase averaged 23 points during two wins for the Aggies last week. Both opponents, Kansas and Kansas State, were receiving votes in the polls. The 5-10 sophomore came off the bench against K-State to lead the Aggies with 17 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. She connected on 7-of-16 field goals as the Aggies beat KSU for the first time since 1999. Then, at Kansas, Atunrase scored a career-high 29 points as she drained a career-high five 3-pointers. Previously she had not made more than two in a game. Atunrase also hit four straight free throws for the Aggies in the final two minutes as part of 12 straight by the team to seal its first Big 12 victory on the road in eight games. Atunrase was 9-of-15 from the field, 5-of-8 from 3-point range, and 6-of-8 from the line against Kansas. She also blocked five shots to move into third place all-time at A&M and tallied two steals. For the week, Atunrase shot 52 percent from the field, 46 percent from 3-point range and 69 percent from the free throw line.
