Volleyball Hosts Scrimmage and Picnic Saturday

NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma volleyball squad will host its annual Crimson and Cream scrimmage this Saturday, Aug. 20 at 9 a.m. inside the newly renovated Howard McCasland Field House. The two-hour intrasquad scrimmage is free admission and open to the public. Following the match, the Sooners will host a picnic for the fans and offer tours of the remodeled Howard McCasland Field House and locker rooms. Food will be provided as long as supplies last.

Saturday's event will provide Sooner fans the first opportunity to watch the 2005 squad under the direction of second-year head coach Santiago Restrepo. This year's squad returns nine players and five starters from the 2004 team that posted the school's best record since 1997 (12-17) and the best start in OU history (8-0). In addition, junior outside hitter Joanna Schmitt has been chosen as a preseason All-Big 12 selection.

Oklahoma opens its season against TCU Saturday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. in Fort Worth, Texas. The Sooners' home opener is slated for Wednesday, Sept. 7 against UT-Arlington at 7 p.m. inside the Howard McCasland Field House.

Flex Season Tickets
Flex season tickets are also available for public, faculty/staff and letterwinners which includes 11 tickets redeemable for any regular-season home match in any combination. Public flex season tickets are $36, and faculty/staff and letterwinner flex season tickets are $30.
