Returning players with starting experience:
C/G Chris Bush, G Kelvin Chaisson, G Davin Joseph, T Chris Messner.
Oklahoma produced the Outland Trophy winner last year in Jammal Brown, but could have just as easily promoted another of its linemen for that award. From the time Davin Joseph drew his first start at OU, in the 2003 Big 12 title game no less, he has been among the team's best.
A guard throughout his career, he will now spend time at tackle, a position he tried briefly last August. Regardless of where he lines up, the senior will be a candidate for the highest honors.
Joseph is one of five seniors in this year's mix and the youngest of the group. The other four are all fifth-year players. Three have extensive starting experience and another has played in short yardage situations.

Among that group are Kelvin Chaisson and Chris Bush, who split time at guard last season. Chaisson is likely to remain at that position, while Bush is a candidate at center. Another who figures somewhere in that center/guard mix is Chris Chester, a converted tight end who was featured in OU's jumbo sets last season.
Chris Messner started at left tackle in the 2003 season opener and has since worked in a reserve role. Akim Millington, a promising sophomore who backed up Jammal Brown last season, is another who will be called upon to step forward at tackle. Brett Rayl is a talented fifth-year senior who figures to get the most extensive look of his career.
From the younger ranks, J.D. Quinn and Cameron Schacht, both of whom redshirted last season, and mid-year arrivals Branndon Braxton and Ben Barresi will get a look.
The losses were significant with Brown, center Vince Carter and Wes Sims, but the presence of five seniors offers some solace.
