NORMAN, Okla. University of Oklahoma men's head coach Mark Williams announced Tuesday the completion of his 2005 recruiting class with the signing of Russell Czeschin from Independence, Missouri
The son of Bill and Mary Czeschin, the Fort Osage high school graduate competes for Great American Gymnastics Express under coach Wally Meierarend. Czeschin was the Missouri club state champion on both the floor exercise and the vault the past two years. A four-time Academic All-American, Czeschin is also a former junior national qualifier.
“We are excited for Russell Czeschin to become part of the Sooner family,” said OU Williams. “He'll be a great contributor to our floor exercise and vault lineups. We look forward to him being part of our young team.”
The signing of Czeschin gives Williams a total of six signees for the 2005 recruiting season. Czeschin will join Wesley Aderhold, Chris Brooks, Garrett Carr, Jason Laughton and Kyle McNamara as the Sooners will look to defend their sixth NCAA championship.
