Fan Information for Saturday Scrimmage

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma wrapped up its final practice prior to the second scrimmage of the spring on Friday afternoon. The Sooners worked exclusively on the Bud Wilkinson Practice Fields south of Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

OU will conduct the second scrimmage of spring practice beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 9. The scrimmage is slated for the stadium and is open to the public. Admission is free.

Head coach Bob Stoops met with the media following practice and discussed Saturday's scrimmage. "A lot of playing and just trying to move the football," forecast Stoops. "We'll try to get more people off the field -- substitutions and coaches. Try to be more game-like. We're still working towards that. Probably around 110 to 115 plays."

On the secondary...
"They're coming along. Eric (Bassey) made a lot of good plays today and a few other guys, too. Jason (Carter) made some plays. Darrien Williams is really coming on, making strides. It's just as you'd expect. They more snaps they get, the more often they're in position and making plays. They're getting familiar and comfortable. Uusally, the more comfortable you are, the more confident and aggresive you are. It seems to be happening."

On finishing with a made field goal at scrimmage...
"I hadn't noticed that. But, probably. That only makes sense. I haven't consciously thought about it but it's probably my nature that we're not going to leave on a bad one. But, the last one he missed -- we were 60 yards away. He had the leg for it but just kind of pulled it. The reason we went back and did it again was to get the other holder in there."

On the holders...
"Well, we don't know. We're still working them. We'll see. Jejuan Rankins does it some. We're still working it."

On the longest made field goal...
"Oh, he's made it from about 57."

April 9 Scrimmage Details
Gates 1 and 12 (southernmost stadium gates) will open one and a half hours prior to the scrimmage at 11:30 a.m. If the scrimmage time is altered, the same gates will open one and a half hours prior to the new time. Security will be at each gate, on the field and in the locker room area. If necessary, fans will be subject to bag checks at both gates.

Seating will be available anywhere in the lower bowl except the south end zone of Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

Outside food and drink will be permitted inside the stadium (this will not be the case for the Spring Game on April 16). Aramark will be selling only drinks from one east and one west side location. Restrooms will only be open on the east and west sides.

The University Bookstore at the Asp Parking Facility (immediately west of the stadium) will be open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. The Switzer Center will be open to the public beginning approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the scrimmage until 6 p.m. Saturday evening.

Prohibited Items
Except for items pertaining to medical conditions or child care, all backpacks, all cameras including point & shoot and video, large cases for binoculars or other items, fanny packs and large purses (larger than 10" by 10") are prohibited and banned. Only those items required for medical or family needs will be permitted.

All carried items and entrants are subject to search. Prohibited items include coolers, ice chests, cans, bottles, banners, umbrellas and noisemakers. Noisemakers of any type (i.e. air horn, plastic horn, whistles, etc.) are not permitted in the stadium.

*A change from our normal stadium policies and only for football scrimmages are cameras (point & shoot and video) of any kind being prohibited. Normally only video cameras are prohibited.
