Women's Golf Finishes 10th at Big 12 Championship

AUSTIN, Texas The Oklahoma women's golf team placed 10th at the Big 12 Championship in Austin, Texas, Sunday with a 954. The tournament was played at the 6,323-yard, par-72 University of Texas Golf Course.

Oklahoma State won the team title after firing a three round total of 900. Annie Thurman-Young (Oklahoma State) won the individual title for the second straight year and is the only player in Big 12 history to accomplish this feat.

For the seventh time this season, senior Emily Milberger recorded a top 20 finish. Milberger carded a 75, four strokes under Saturday's mark, and tied for 12th with a 14-over 230.

Sophomore Jaclyn Stelzer tied for 26th with a third round 76 to give her a total of 235 (+19). Shooting an 81 in the third round, freshman Heather Wright tied for 48th with a 245 (+29). After struggling in the second round, freshman Kelly Jacques carded an 80, 10 strokes under Saturday's mark, and tied for 52nd. Rounding out the scoring for the Sooners was junior Amparo Gala, who shot an 85 in the third round and placed 60th with a 39-over 255.

The NCAA Selection Committee will announce the regional fields Monday. If selected, the Sooners will compete in the NCAA Central Regional May 5-7 in Lubbock, Texas.
