NORMAN, Okla. -- OU offensive tackle Wes Sims was drafted by the Chargers -- the 10th Sooner selected in the 2005 NFL Draft. Lance Mitchell and Donte Nicholson went in the fifth round. Antonio Perkins was selected early on Sunday in the fourth round by the Cleveland Browns.
 
On the Saturday, the first day of the Draft, Jammal Brown and Mark Clayton were selected in the first round while Brodney Pool, Mark Bradley and Dan Cody were drafted in the second. Brandon Jones was selected in the third round.

Oklahoma, with 10 players drafted, supplied the most selections of any school in the 2005 NFL Draft. Florida State followed OU with nine while Georgia and Wisconsin each had seven.
 
A total of 33 Big 12 Conference players were drafted -- with nealy a third being Sooners. OU was trailed by Nebraska (4), Missouri (3), Oklahoma State (3), Texas (3), Texas A&M (3), Texas Tech (3), Baylor (1), Iowa State (1), Kansas (1) and Kansas State (1).

The Browns turned to an Oklahoma defensive back for the second time in as many days when they selected cornerback Antonio Perkins in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft, 103 overall. Donte Nicholson Selected by Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Fifth Round, No. 141 Overall
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers like hard hitters in their secondary. They got one in Oklahoma strong safety Donte Nicholson. Nicholson, a very physical 6-1, 216-pound defender, was the 141st player selected overall, going to the Buccaneers four picks into the fifth round. He is the second defensive player taken by the Buccaneers, both out of the rugged Big 12 Conference. In the second round, Tampa Bay selected Nebraska linebacker Barrett Ruud.

Fifth Round, No. 168 Overall
With a 5th round pick (32nd, 168th overall) acquired from New England, the Cardinals selected Oklahoma's LB Lance Mitchell. The Cardinals traded their sixth-round pick last summer for players Troy Hambrick and Peppi Zellner. They have a remaining 7th round pick (12th, 226th overall).
