AUSTIN, Texas The Oklahoma women's golf team fired a first-round 314 and is in 10th place at the Big 12 Championship in Austin, Texas. The team trails first-place Oklahoma State by 19 strokes.

The tournament is being held at the 6,323-yard, par-72 University of Texas Golf Club.

Senior Emily Milberger, who finished in a tie for 25th at the tournament last year, carded a four-over 76 and is tied for 15th heading into the second round. Tied for 26th are freshman Kelly Jacques and sophomore Jaclyn Stelzer, who both shot a 78. Freshman Heather Wright trails Jacques and Stelzer by four strokes with an 82 (+10), while junior Amparo Gala is in 56th place with a 12-over 84.

The Sooners finished fourth at the tournament last year with a two-round total of 607 (+31).

The teams will begin second-round play at 8 a.m. Saturday.
