Sooners Kick Off Spring Game at 1 p.m.

NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma concludes its spring football season this Saturday with the annual Red/White game presented by Diffee Ford. Kickoff at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m.

A full slate of activities is planned, beginning with Sooner Fan Fest at 11 a.m. The large interactive area, located just north of the stadium, is free to the public. As part of Fan Fest, the US Cellular Autograph Tent will host the 2004 OU football seniors signing autographs from 11:15 am to 12:15 p.m. Only one item is allowed per person.

Red/White game programs will be on sale for only $3 and include a 2005 Oklahoma football schedule magnet. Also, a limited number of 2005 posters and schedule cards will be available in kiosks located throughout the stadium. The poster is the first in a series of four celebrating 110 years of Sooner football. The remaining three posters are set to be released in August.

Pre-game festivities in the stadium include recognition of all former OU football alumni in attendance. At halftime, last seasons's award winners Jason White and Jammal Brown will be recognized for their achievements.

Advance tickets are $5. OU students with a valid OU ID will be admitted free of charge. Sooner Kid's Club members will also be admitted free with ID.

On the day of the game, tickets are $10.

Tickets are available online through the official Athletics Department website, SoonerSports.com, or from the Athletics Department Ticket Office in the Asp Avenue Parking Facility. Phone orders will be accepted at (405) 325-2424 or at (800) 456-GoOU.

The ticket office hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. On Saturday, tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m., at Gates 5 and 7. Most of those windows will be cash only to expedite the process. Will Call tickets will be available for pickup at 9 a.m., at the Athletics Ticket Office in the Asp Avenue Parking Facility.

Gates open at 11:30 a.m. Entrance into Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium will be available through Gates 1, 5, 7, 11 and 12. Seating will be available in the lower bowl. Concessions and restrooms will be available on the west, east and north side. In addition, it is recommended that fans have tickets in hand for the game or to arrive early to avoid long lines. Last year's spring game drew a crowd estimated at 31,000.

Broadcast Information
Oklahoma's Spring Game will be carried live on TV and radio across the state. Fans in the Oklahoma City metro area can watch the game on KWTV - Channel 9 while fans in the Tulsa area will see the game on KOTV - Channel 6. The game will also be televised live in Woodward on KOMI - Channel 24 and in Lawton on KSWO - Channel 5. Metro Sports will air the game live in Kansas City, Mo.

Chuck Cooperstein will have play-by-play assisted by Dean Blevins. John Holcomb and Toby Rowland will supply reports from the sidelines.

The Sooner Sports Radio Network will air the game live on radio in the Oklahoma City and Norman metro on KOKC - 1520 AM. KFAQ - 1170 AM will have the broadcast in the Tulsa area while KXCA - 1380 will carry the game in Lawton. Fans can also listen to the broadcast on KGFF - 1450 AM in Shawnee and KNED - 1150 AM in McAlester.

The radio broadcast will be available online world-wide via Yahoo.

Bob Barry Sr. will call the game with Merv Johnson adding color. Brian Brinkley will give sideline reports.

The Spring Game will be webcast live to Sooner fans around the world on the O-Zone at SoonerSports.com. If you're not yet a member, those who sign up for an annual subscription between now and April 16 will receive an official spring game program and the 2005 OU football schedule magnet.

Sooner Fan Fest
Sooner Fan Fest, an interactive fan entertainment area located on the north side of Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, will be held for Sooner fans prior to Saturday's Spring Game. Fan Fest, presented by Sooner Sports Properties and the OU Athletics Department, will open at 11:00 am and close at approximately 12:45 pm.

Sooner fans of all ages can access Fan Fest and take part in the festivities. Highlights include:

Four inflatable interactive games for children (Moonbounce, 40' Obstacle Course, 18' Slide and Bungee Run)

Spring Game Specifics
Alcoholic Beverages: Alcoholic beverages of any kind are prohibited in public areas at OU athletic events.

Animals: No pets or animals of any kind are allowed in the facilities, with the exception of animals used by disabled guests.

ATM Machines: An ATM machine is located on the east and west side of the stadium, near sections 2 & 32.

Cameras: No cameras of any type will be permitted in the stadium.

Chair Back Rental: Show your school spirit and enjoy Oklahoma football in comfort by renting a new crimson Sooner seat back! Sooner seat backs will be available at entrances of Memorial Stadium for just $5.00. Simply stop by a service center to pick up your chair and enjoy all the gridiron action in style.

Concessions: Concession stands on the west, east and north sides will be open. No food or drink is allowed through the gates, although empty water bottles are permitted.

Disability Seating: For information on disability seating call the Athletic Ticket Office at 800-456-GoOU or visit that office located on the plaza level of the Asp Avenue Parking Facility immediately west of Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

Exiting After Games: Guests will leave the facilities via the main gates. No guests are permitted on the field.

First Aid: Gomer Jones Medical Facility, located at the North End of the stadium, Section 19 ground level will be open for any first aid needs.

Giveaways: A limited number of 2005 OU football schedule posters and cards will be available.

Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, (i.e. dangerous winds, tornado, electrical storm, etc.) all guests must be advised that it is in their best interest to seek shelter. Emergency instructions will be delivered via the public address system and the message boards when possible.

Lost Children: Parents/guardians with a lost child should contact the nearest police officer or event staff member. That person will then contact the proper personnel to insure the quickest remedy to the situation. If a child gets separated from his/her party, he/she should notify the nearest police officer or event staff member. If the child knows his/her seat location, attempts will be made to return the child to that location.

Lost & Found: During the game you may check at the Gomer Jones Medical Facility office located in the Northeast corner of the stadium. After the game, all unclaimed items are turned over to the Campus Police, and you may contact them at 405-325-2864 if you have any questions.

Merchandise & Game Program: The University Bookstore located on the ground floor of the Asp Parking Facility (west side of the stadium) from 10 a.m. 4 p.m. Additionally, merchandise stands will be located inside the stadium. Official game programs are on sale outside the stadium and at select locations inside the stadium.

Parking: All normal lots will be open. Free parking is available at the Lloyd Noble Center located approximately one mile south of the stadium. A shuttle is provided for $2 round trip and unloads one block south of the stadium on First Street. The shuttle provides begins three hours prior to kickoff and return trips for one hour after the conclusion of the game. Programs: A 16-page program will be sold at the stadium. It will include a magnet schedule for the 2005 season.

Prohibited Items: Except for items pertaining to medical conditions or child care, all backpacks, all cameras including point & shoot and video, large cases for binoculars or other items, fanny packs and large purses (larger than 10" by 10") are prohibited and banned. Only those items required for medical or family needs will be permitted. All carried items and entrants are subject to search. Prohibited items include coolers, ice chests, cans, bottles, banners, umbrellas and noisemakers. Noisemakers of any type (i.e. air horn, plastic horn, whistles, etc.) are not permitted in the stadium.

Re-entry Policy: Unlike regular season games, fans will not be permitted to exit the stadium and re-enter unless for medical or other emergency situations. Extraordinary circumstances may permit emergency exit at any gate. Fans departing for medical/emergency situations will be allowed to exit and re-enter throughout the game with pass out check and ticket stub.

Restrooms: Restrooms will be open on the east, west, south and north sides.

Seating - All fans will be permitted to sit in the lower bowl seating area. The upper decks on both sides will be closed. Disability seating will be available in the south end zone.

Stadium Access: The stadium will open at 11:30 a.m. Gates 1, 5, 7, 11 and 12 will be available for entrance.

Switzer Center: Will open approximately 30 minutes after conclusion of scrimmage and will remain open until 6 p.m. Reminder NO food or drink is permitted inside the Switzer Center.

Tickets: Advance tickets are $5. OU students with a valid OU ID will be admitted free of charge. On the day of the game all tickets are $10. Ticket office and Will Call open at 10 a.m.

Ticket Sales: Some 16 windows, most of which will be cash only, will be open at gates 5 and 7 (north side) beginning at 9 a.m.. Those are the only points of sale on the day of the game.

Traffic Flow: Approximately 2 hours prior to kickoff there will be one street closure adjacent to the stadium. Jenkins Ave., a north-south street that borders the eastern side of the stadium will be closed from Brooks (north of the stadium) to Lindsey. This portion of Jenkins will remain closed until approx. 1 hour after the game. In an effort to ease post-game traffic, local law enforcement will assist with traffic control of major intersections and primary routes departing the stadium.

Will Call: The normal Will Call window in the Asp Avenue Parking Facility will be open for those needing to pick up previously purchased tickets. Will Call opens at 9 a.m.
