KANSAS CITY -- Leah Rush had 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead Oklahoma to an 86-65 win over Texas A&M on Tuesday in the first round of the Big 12 tournament.
After taking a 41-40 halftime lead, seventh-seeded Oklahoma (17-11) opened the second half strong. The Sooners went on a 12-1 run to take a 53-41 lead over 10th-seeded Texas A&M (14-14).
With 10:46 left, Oklahoma led 62-53, then went on a 7-0 run to take a 69-53 lead.
The Sooners shot 55 percent (30-of-55) from the floor for the game and were 18-for-19 (95 percent) from the free-throw line. They held the Aggies to 41 percent shooting (24-of-58) from the floor.
