KANSAS CITY -- Leah Rush had 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead Oklahoma to an 86-65 win over Texas A&M on Tuesday in the first round of the Big 12 tournament.

After taking a 41-40 halftime lead, seventh-seeded Oklahoma (17-11) opened the second half strong. The Sooners went on a 12-1 run to take a 53-41 lead over 10th-seeded Texas A&M (14-14).

With 10:46 left, Oklahoma led 62-53, then went on a 7-0 run to take a 69-53 lead.

The Sooners shot 55 percent (30-of-55) from the floor for the game and were 18-for-19 (95 percent) from the free-throw line. They held the Aggies to 41 percent shooting (24-of-58) from the floor.

Oklahoma plays second-seeded Texas on Wednesday, March 9, at 6 p.m. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net.

Erin Higgins had 19 points, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range, for the Sooners. Britney Brown added 12 points.

A'Quonesia Franklin led the Aggies with 14 points, five rebounds, and eight assists. Erica Roy added 13 points and five assists.
