Sooners Place 16th at Lady Gator Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma women's golf team fired a 326 in the third round and placed 16th at the SunTrust Lady Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., on Sunday. Wake Forest took first place honors with a tournament total of 883.

Senior Emily Milberger shot a 78 in the final round and jumped from a tie for 35th to a tie for 26th. Sophomore Jaclyn Stelzer shot one under Saturday's mark, giving her a tournament total of 241 and putting her in a tie for 63rd.

Freshman Kelly Jacques, who was tied for 28th after the second round, struggled in the final round of the tournament and finished in a tie for 81st after carding a 96 in the final round.

Freshman Heather Wright shot an 82, six under Saturday's mark, and tied for 83rd. Rounding out the scoring for the Sooners was junior Amparo Gala, who recorded a third round score of 87 and placed 85th.

The Sooners will return to action at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas, on March 11-13.
