Women's Golf Falls to Fourth in Round Two

Women's Golf Takes Fourth at Tapatio Springs

NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma women's golf team shot a 26-over-par 314 in the final round of the Baylor-Tapatio Springs Intercollegiate Shootout on Saturday and finished in fourth place, the team's fourth top 10 finish of the season. Baylor took first place honors with an 897 (+33).

Leading the Sooners for the first time this season was freshman Heather Wright, who earned a career best fourth place after carding an 80 (+8) in the final round and finished with a 225. In the second round of the tournament, Wright fired a career-low 71.

Senior Emily Milberger and freshman Kelly Jacques also finished in the top 20. Milberger fired a two-over-par 74, giving her a tournament total of 228 and putting her in a tie for 11th. With a 79 (+7), Jacques finished in a tie for 19th with a 234.

Sophomore Jaclyn Stelzer, who went into the third round in a tie for 53rd, shot an 81 (+9) and moved up into a tie for 49th. Junior Amparo Gala rounded out the scoring for the team with an 86 (+14) in the final round and tied for 74th.

The team will return to action on April 10-11 as it hosts the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic, which the Sooners have won the past two years.
