Women's Golf Falls to Fourth in Round Two

NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma women's golf team fell to fourth place after shooting a 23-over-par 311 in the second round of the Baylor-Tapatio Springs Intercollegiate Shootout in Boerne, Texas, on Friday. SMU shot a 296 (+8) and moved past Oklahoma to take the third place spot.

Leading the Sooners was freshman Heather Wright, who shot a career-best 71 (-1). Wright moved up to second place with a tournament total of 145 (+1).

Senior Emily Milberger struggled in the second round, carding a nine-over-par 81 and falling into a tie for 17th. Freshman Kelly Jacques fell out of the top 20 into a tie for 21st after recording a 79 (+7).

Sophomore Jaclyn Stelzer moved up four spots into a tie for 53rd after shooting an 80, four under Thursday's mark. With a 13-over-par 85, junior Amparo Gala fell into a tie for 67th with a tournament total of 168.

The final round of the tournament begins Saturday at 7:30 a.m. CST.
