NORMAN, Okla., -- The OU baseball team was scheduled to play at UT-Arlington on Wednesday at 3 p.m. but rain in the Arlington area last night and this morning has postponed the game. The rain is expected to continue throughout most of Wednesday and no makeup date has been announced.
The Sooners (7-2), winners of seven straight games, will now focus on the 2005 Kia Bash, an event they won last year by knocking off ranked teams Georgia Tech and Cal State Fullerton. OU will travel to Fullerton, Calif., on Thursday to face UCLA on Friday, No. 4 Cal State Fullerton on Saturday and Nevada on Sunday.
OU will then take part in a six-game home stand after the Kia Bash as it hosts Arkansas Pine-Bluff on March 8 and 9, Northwest Louisiana State in a three-game set over the weekend (3/11-13) and Dallas Baptist on March 15. In their most recent home stand (six games), the Sooners swept Eastern Illinois and Western Illinois by outscoring the two teams by a combined score of 65-24.
